The assination of Caesar was a conspiracy. By roman senators who called themselves liberators. Caesar was the dictator of the Roman Republic at the time, having recently been declared dictator perpetuo by the senate. The declaration feared that julius wanted to overthrow the senate in favor of Tyranny. He was assinated near the theatre in Pompey on March 15 ,44 BC.
The theatre of Pompey was a structure in ancient Rome. It was dedicated in 55 BC. It was one of the first permanent non wooden theatres in Rome. It contained expansive garden complex of statues and fountains. It was an infamous place of the murder of Julius Caesar. There were about 40 Roman senators. They used knives and swords to end the life of Julius Caesar.
One of the murderes who stabbed Julius Caesar was friend Marcus Brutus. Caesar fell and uttered his famous and last words "Et tu, Brute?" When Octavian ''Augustus'' found out he went out to avenge the ones who killed Julius. Caesar was scheduled to leave Rome to fight in a war on March 18 and had appointed loyal members of his army to rule the Empire in his absence. The Republican senators, already chafing at having to abide by Caesar's decrees, were particularly angry about the prospect of taking orders from Caesar's underlings.
